The Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat is a world-famous, deeply spiritual ceremony performed daily at sunset on the banks of the holy Ganges in Rishikesh. Triveni Ghat is the confluence of three holy rivers: the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati. The aarti is defined by rhythmic Vedic chants, the sound of conch shells, and priests holding massive, multi-tiered brass lamps. The sight of thousands of tiny oil lamps floating down the dark, shimmering river creates a deeply meditative, emotional, and visually spectacular atmosphere.

Arrive at the ghat by 5:00 PM to secure a seating spot close to the prayer platforms
Remove your shoes and keep them in the designated storage counters
Maintain absolute silence and devotion during the chanting and rituals
Avoid standing up or blocking the view of others during the aarti

Can we participate in floating the lamps?
Yes, you can buy small leaf-cups filled with flowers and a candle (diyas) from local vendors to float in the river after the aarti.
